Founder
Take Flight Girls Inc. was started in 2014 by Stephanie McCloud, and her two friends. They wanted to create a platform that they felt was missing from their lives growing up. Young minority women face many challenges in today’s society, which seems to discount the value women bring to our country. The nurturing of new ideas and dreams of success can make differences in the life of a young girl. Positive influences are important and more exposure to subjects peak interest. The three founders all experienced adversity when entered the aviation industry, as young black women. The founders felt that the importance of exposure, access to mentorship, and knowledge of resources could have helped their journeys. In their hometown of St. Louis, the organization targets girls between the ages of 12-21 to nurture and develop them into well-rounded women. They do this by exposing girls to aviation, introducing them to entrepreneurship, enlightening them to traveling aboard, while still giving back. Take Flight Girls Inc. to hold events, fundraise, and help provide resources for girls and causes related to our mission. They aim to be the catalyst that introduces the next female innovators to impact our society and world
